On June 2, 2024, the Liaoning Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce held a donation and scholarship-giving event titled “Love in Zhejiang: Supporting Dreams and Bringing Warmth to Celebrate Children’s Day” at the Liaoning Orphan School (Liaoning Guangming School). Liaoning Tongfang Law Firm, as a vice-president unit of the Liaoning Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce, participated in this donation and scholarship-giving event. Wu Menglai, Vice President of the Liaoning Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Director of the Public Welfare and Social Responsibility Committee of Liaoning Tongfang Law Firm, represented the firm at the event. All funds raised during this donation and scholarship-giving activity will be used exclusively to purchase programming equipment for the Liaoning Orphan School (Liaoning Guangming School), helping students at the school learn programming courses and realize their dreams of becoming programmers. Liaoning Province Orphan School (Liaoning Province Guangming School) is the only school in the province that provides nine-year compulsory education and secondary vocational education for orphans of appropriate age and children who are de facto without parental care. It also assumes the responsibility of providing round-the-clock residential care and upbringing for students enrolled at the school. Furthermore, it is a social welfare institution that supports the living needs of students who go on to attend high school, university, graduate school, and doctoral programs after graduating from the school. The campus covers an area of 386 mu, with a total building area of 87,000 square meters. It is fully equipped with supporting facilities and boasts a beautiful, clean environment. Currently, the school has 285 faculty and staff members, nearly 1,000 enrolled students, and more than 900 students studying off-campus.

The Public Welfare and Social Responsibility Committee of Liaoning Tongfang Law Firm is a dedicated committee officially established by Tongfang Law Firm on December 29, 2021, with the purpose of fulfilling the firm’s social responsibility obligations. Since its establishment, the Tongfang Law Firm Public Welfare Committee has consistently upheld the principle that public welfare should be integrated into every aspect of the firm’s operations and that everyone is capable of contributing to charitable causes.


Introduction to the Tongfang Public Welfare Committee

The Tongfang Public Welfare Committee, officially established on December 29, 2021, is fully named the Tongfang Law Firm Public Welfare and Social Responsibility Committee. It currently has 106 members. The Director of the Tongfang Public Welfare Committee is Attorney Zhao Jing; its advisors include Attorney Yang Xingquan (Director and Chairman of Partners at Tongfang Law Firm) and Attorney Han Ying (Director of Tongfang’s Free Trade Zone Branch Office). The Vice Directors of the Committee are Attorneys Li Lizhi, Sun Zhiqiang, and Wu Menglai; the Secretaries-General are Attorneys Jia Jiayu, Wei Shiyu, and Yu Liyuan; and the Deputy Secretaries-General are Attorneys Wang Weijing, Zhang Xin, and Xu Wenzhuo. The Tongfang Public Welfare Committee is dedicated to charitable causes and leverages the professional strengths of lawyers to serve society and the public.
