On the afternoon of September 29, the 5th Congress of Members of the Shenyang Law Society was held at the Shenyang Innovation World International Conference Hall. Approximately 270 people attended the congress, including all delegates, as well as provincial and municipal leaders and guests. Tongfang Law Firm, as a representative of law firms, was invited to participate in this congress. Attending the congress as representatives were Lawyer Cao Yuanjun, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tongfang Law Firm; Lawyer Li Jing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Senior Partner; Lawyer Wang Chen, Senior Partner; and Lawyer Ma Yunhe.

The conference was chaired by a member of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission. Minister of Social Work Comrade Gu Junying presided over the meeting. Comrade Min Honglin, Party Secretary of the Liaoning Provincial Law Society, attended the conference and delivered a speech. Comrade Wang Yongwei, Deputy Secretary of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee, delivered a speech on behalf of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee of the CPC. The conference reviewed and adopted—by voting—the “Draft Resolution on the Work Report of the 4th Council of the Shenyang Municipal Law Society.” It also elected the president, executive vice president, vice presidents, and members of the 5th Council of the Shenyang Municipal Law Society. Comrade Gu Junying, member of the Standing Committee of the Shenyang Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and Head of the Social Work Department, was elected as the president of the 5th Council of the Shenyang Municipal Law Society.

Attorney Cao Yuanjun from Tongfang was elected Vice President of the 5th Council of the Shenyang Law Society, Attorney Wang Chen was elected Executive Director, and Attorney Li Jing was elected Director.

The Law Society is a mass organization and academic body under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Since its establishment, the Shenyang Law Society has played an important role as a bridge and catalyst in promoting the prosperity of socialist jurisprudence, as well as in uniting, organizing, and encouraging legal scholars and practitioners in Shenyang to conduct in-depth research and exchanges on socialist jurisprudence.

The Tongfang lawyers will actively participate in the building of socialist democracy and the rule of law with full political enthusiasm, a strong sense of responsibility, and a professional work ethic, thereby contributing to the promotion of governance according to law and the construction of a socialist country under the rule of law.
