On the third day of the expo, members of the center’s team actively engaged in exchanges and interactions with exhibitors from upstream and downstream sectors of the industry—including elderly care services, smart health and wellness solutions, medical devices, financial insurance, and manufacturers of age-friendly products. The team gained a deep understanding of the many “growing pains” that the silver economy sector faces during its development. As age-friendly robots, AI health assistants, and smart monitoring devices have become the focal points of the expo, legal compliance behind technological innovation has emerged as businesses’ most pressing need. The “Several Policies for Promoting the Development of the Silver Economy in Liaoning Province,” unveiled on the first day of the expo, is urgently awaiting interpretation. Moreover, high-value claims arising from accidental falls among seniors are placing tremendous pressure on institutional operations; and financial products being accused of “misleading sales” are triggering a dual crisis—both regulatory fines and customer attrition.

Over the past three days of the expo, through increasingly in-depth discussions—from traditional elderly care institutions to cutting-edge technology companies—business leaders have come to a shared understanding: In the second half of the silver economy, competition hinges on the dual-drive of legal risk management and technological innovation! Legal services have become an essential component for driving industrial upgrades. During the expo, Tongfang Silver Economy Legal Service Center actively participated in exchange activities organized by civil affairs departments and industry associations, joining experts, scholars, and industry leaders from both home and abroad to discuss trends in the silver economy and its legal safeguards. As the silver economy continues to develop rapidly, new business models and service formats are constantly emerging. While these developments bring numerous opportunities, they also come with a host of legal risks—such as the risk of illegal fundraising in the elderly care finance sector and the issue of safety and security responsibilities for elderly care service providers—all of which demand high attention from the industry. Tongfang Silver Economy Legal Service Center will continue to closely monitor developments in the silver economy sector, providing professional legal support and guidance to foster standardized, healthy, and sustainable growth within the industry.

At the exhibition venue, the center also set up a dedicated personal legal consultation desk to provide one-on-one legal assistance to elderly visitors and their family members. Many seniors came with legal questions and concerns they’ve been facing. Some elderly individuals were confused about how to protect their rights after falling victim to false advertising when purchasing health supplements; others had numerous questions about the legal provisions governing inheritance. The center’s lawyers patiently listened to each consultant’s concerns, explained legal issues in clear and easy-to-understand language, and clearly outlined the appropriate channels for seeking redress. In doing so, they brought legal services directly to the elderly, enabling them to feel the warmth and care of the law.
