Five days of intensive exchanges have culminated in a shared vision for the future! The five-day Open Week event hosted by Tongfang Law Firm concluded successfully on September 5. Centered around the theme “Unite Tongfang’s Strength, Jointly Explore the Future of the Rule of Law,” the event brought together colleagues from the firm’s provincial branches and legal industry elites to the Shenyang headquarters. Through immersive tours, in-depth discussions, and expert knowledge-sharing sessions, the event comprehensively showcased Tongfang’s 26-year expertise and deep-rooted commitment to the legal services sector. Participants jointly discussed strategies for the coordinated development of branch offices, injecting fresh momentum into Tongfang’s efforts to achieve professionalization, branding, and integration within the rule-of-law ecosystem.

A deep dive into the headquarters—experiencing the depth of professional expertise.

During the Open Week, representatives from branch offices across various regions, together with colleagues from the legal community, visited the office areas on floors 42 to 45 of the headquarters in several groups. From the modern and minimalist reception and consultation area to the smart, shared office spaces, from the historical and cultural corridor etched with the firm’s development milestones to the multi-functional training room equipped with high-definition live-streaming equipment—every detail reflects Tongfang’s 26 years of deep-rooted expertise in the legal services sector.

Multiple symposiums were held in the 45th-floor conference room, during which colleagues from the head office and its branches engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as “regional resource integration,” “building specialized teams,” and “brand development strategies.” Seated together in a warm and open atmosphere, participants exchanged diverse perspectives, gradually shaping a new pattern of collaborative development characterized by “the head office setting the strategic direction, branches deepening their roots in local regions, and complementary expertise across professional fields.”

Tongfang Open Academy: Illuminating New Opportunities

On September 5, 2025, Tongfang Law Firm’s Open Week event reached its concluding day. As the highlight of the series, lawyer Sun Zhihong, a partner at the Dalian branch, delivered a special lecture titled “Practical Application of Data Industry Regulations and Innovative Collaboration in Legal Services,” drawing participation from colleagues across Tongfang’s various branches as well as from the legal community at large.

During the lecture, Attorney Sun Zhihong focused on the core logic of the data industry in the digital economy era, offering an in-depth analysis of how “entropy reduction in the digital world”—driven by the development of artificial intelligence—is reshaping traditional industries. She proposed that the legal profession should leverage its “advantages in regulatory attributes” to break through the phenomenon of internal business competition and achieve differentiated development through innovative models such as “factor-based legal services” and “proactively engaging in AI’s growth.” Addressing the pain points of data compliance that businesses are concerned about, Attorney Sun Zhihong highlighted practical solutions including the development of public data products, corporate data asset governance, and the establishment of personal information protection systems. Drawing on her experience with landmark cases—such as Dalian’s first-ever compulsory liquidation case involving a company and training sessions on the filing of standard contracts for cross-border transfers of personal information—she demonstrated concrete pathways for using law to empower the data industry.

Although the Open Week has come to a close, our journey ahead is just beginning. This event not only marked a deepened connection between the headquarters and its branches but also served as a vivid embodiment of Tongfang’s philosophy: “Walking the Right Path Together, Upholding Integrity and Adhering to Principles.” Moving forward, Tongfang will take this Open Week as an opportunity to further strengthen collaborative mechanisms among its branches, refine its resource-sharing platform, and, grounded in professionalism and fueled by innovation, join hands with all colleagues to draw up a new blueprint for legal services—“planning for Liaoning, deepening our presence in Northeast China, and serving the entire nation!”
