Micro Party Class · Issue 339
Promote the continuous improvement of the Party's work style.
“Theoretical cultivation is the core of the comprehensive quality of Party members and cadres. Theoretical maturity is the foundation for political maturity, and political steadfastness stems from theoretical clarity.” For Party members and cadres, fostering a fine academic style and strengthening theoretical education are both fundamental requirements for cultivating Party spirit and an inescapable political responsibility.
Tongfang Law Firm provides all its lawyers with learning opportunities in the form of micro-party classes, thereby enhancing their ideological and political awareness as well as their spirit of learning and inquiry. By establishing a long-term educational mechanism, the firm has created a new platform for self-education and self-improvement.
On March 12, the Leading Group for Party Building under the CPC Central Committee held a meeting and pointed out that, as decided by the CPC Central Committee, from after the Two Sessions in 2025 until July, the entire Party will carry out in-depth study and education on the spirit of the CPC Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation. The primary goal of this study and education is to educate and guide Party members and cadres to persistently implement the spirit of the CPC Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, continuously improve the Party’s work style, ensure that all decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee are effectively put into practice, and contribute wisdom and strength to advancing Chinese-style modernization.
The building of work style is an important component of Party building. A sound Party ethos is a tremendous force that unites the hearts and minds of both Party members and the people. The reason our Party has been able to grow from small to large, from weak to strong, continuously develop and achieve great accomplishments lies in our unwavering commitment to strict governance of the Party, treating good conduct as our very lifeblood and viewing bad conduct as a grave enemy. Rectifying work style is an inherent requirement of comprehensively enforcing strict Party governance. For the Party to govern itself effectively, it is crucial to manage work style well; the key to comprehensively enforcing strict Party governance lies precisely in maintaining rigorous standards in work style. Since the 18th National Congress of the Party, the series of concentrated study and education campaigns conducted within the Party, though each with its own specific focus depending on the situation and tasks at hand, have all consistently emphasized the need to strengthen the Party’s work style. Since the implementation of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, from the central level down to localities, we have adhered steadfastly to each stipulation and addressed every issue one by one. As a result, good habits have taken root, tangible results have been achieved, and the Party’s and government’s conduct has undergone a dramatic transformation. Social customs and public morale have continued to improve. The Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation has revealed the true sentiments of the people, consolidated the Party’s governing foundation, and become a “golden hallmark” of the Communist Party of China’s work-style building—a landmark phrase that has brought about profound changes in the Party’s, government’s, and society’s conduct.
Improving work style is an ongoing journey that allows for no slackening whatsoever; otherwise, all previous efforts could be in vain and even backfire, undermining the hard-won achievements. As revealed by the typical cases of violations of the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, reported in recent years by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission as well as local discipline inspection and supervision commissions at various levels, a prominent reason why some Party members and cadres have run into one problem or another is the erosion of their sense of purpose and the weakening of their awareness of the masses. Conducting in-depth study and education on the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation and promoting integrated learning, investigation, and rectification are aimed at educating and guiding Party members and cadres to never forget who they are, whom they serve, and from whom they draw their strength—thus maintaining the close bond between the Party and the people at all times, driving the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party to greater depths, and making the Party stronger, more robust, and more vibrant through its revolutionary forging.
The building of work style serves the overall interests of the Party’s work, reflecting the new requirements imposed by the Party’s new situation and new tasks on its work style. Moreover, the process of improving work style becomes a process of thoroughly implementing the Party’s theories, guidelines, and policies. To carry out this study and education effectively and with high quality, Party members and cadres must earnestly align their thinking and actions with the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, using a fresh atmosphere of work style to drive new achievements in the development of Chinese-style modernization. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee proposed more than 300 important reform initiatives, each of which will require all Party members and cadres to make strenuous efforts and adopt a rigorous and pragmatic work style to ensure successful implementation. As 2025 marks the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and the initial year for formulating the blueprint for the 15th Five-Year Plan, it is also a crucial year for advancing Chinese-style modernization. Further deepening and comprehensively deepening reform can never do without the solid guarantee provided by the building of work style. By conducting in-depth study and education on the spirit of the Party Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, ensuring that learning is of high quality, inspections are rigorous, and rectifications yield tangible results, we will further encourage Party members and cadres to put into practice all the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, thus contributing their wisdom and strength to advancing Chinese-style modernization.
All Party members and cadres must constantly align themselves with the standards set forth, persistently work on this without slackening, and strive tirelessly to find the bottom lines and red lines in the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation—a guiding benchmark for conduct—and clearly define what actions are permissible and what are strictly prohibited. Problems themselves serve as the target for improving our work style. We must thoroughly and comprehensively identify shortcomings in implementing the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation and its detailed rules, and delve deeply into the root causes of these problems. Strengthening work-style development is not a soft constraint but a hard task; we must address whatever problems exist, focus on tackling those that are most prominent, and ensure that issues are promptly investigated and rectified—making immediate corrections upon detection. Broad participation and oversight by the masses represent an effective way to continuously improve the Party’s work style. This study and education campaign emphasizes open and inclusive approaches. Party members and cadres must firmly follow the Party’s mass line for the new era, gain a clear understanding of the urgent needs, difficulties, and concerns of the masses, and genuinely deliver practical measures that benefit and serve the people. The effectiveness of our work-style improvements should be measured by the tangible sense of gain, happiness, and security felt by the masses.
To row upstream against the current, one must exert all one’s strength; loosen the oar even slightly, and you’ll find yourself drifting backward a thousand fathoms. The campaign to strengthen work style is both a tough battle and a protracted struggle. Only by staying firmly committed and persevering over the long term can we achieve tangible results. Strengthening work style requires the courage to push forward like rolling stones uphill and overcoming every obstacle—deepening rectification efforts until they reach their root and yield real, lasting effects. At the same time, we must remain steadfast in focusing on regularity, meticulousness, and sustained effort, never letting up and maintaining unwavering persistence. We must continuously enhance our ideological and practical awareness of thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulations and their detailed rules for implementation, promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of work-style improvement, and win public support and boost the development of our cause through new achievements in work-style building.
