On May 11, 2024, Dajia Property & Casualty Insurance Co., Ltd. held a special training session titled “Examining Two Core Risks and Sales Operation Risks Through Insurance Litigation Cases.” Given the current trend of rising litigation volumes in the insurance industry and an increasingly stringent judicial environment, this training was specially organized to effectively control operational risks across all stages—including underwriting, policy issuance, claims handling, and sales—and to prevent backend litigation risks or adverse litigation outcomes arising from improper operations or inadequate communication. The training was attended online simultaneously by legal compliance and risk control teams from Dajia P&C’s headquarters and its 36 branch offices, with a total participation of over 200 people.

The “Procedures for the Construction and Operation of the People’s Courts Case Database,” issued by the Supreme People’s Court on May 7, 2024, stipulates in Article 19 that when hearing cases, people’s courts at all levels shall search the People’s Courts Case Database and render judgments strictly in accordance with laws, judicial interpretations, normative documents, and with reference to similar cases already included in the database. Therefore, Attorney Wang Zhanping’s interpretation of the “property insurance litigation cases” in the Case Database is not only of great significance for insurance companies in formulating their pre-litigation defense strategies and litigation tactics, but also helps them gain a better understanding, from a litigation perspective, of the latest judicial rules and trends prevailing at this stage.

Attorney Wang Zhanping selected 15 typical cases from the People's Court Case Database concerning property insurance disputes and provided clear and concise explanations of these cases through analysis of the facts and key points of the judgments. In addition, an interactive Q&A session was organized, in which participating colleagues actively engaged and exchanged ideas enthusiastically. As a result, they gained a more concrete and in-depth understanding of how to effectively mitigate legal risks in underwriting and claims handling, and this session played a positive role in guiding the improvement of their daily working procedures.
