Adhere to a balanced approach. “Constant rules cannot accommodate change, and a single path cannot respond to infinite possibilities.” The primary and secondary contradictions are interconnected and mutually restrictive; under certain conditions, they can even transform into one another. When examining any phenomenon, we must first focus on the primary contradiction and the mainstream trend, yet at the same time, we must also pay attention to the secondary contradictions and secondary aspects—never losing sight of one while neglecting the other. Handle the relationship between the long-term and the immediate with care. We must not only proactively plan for the long term but also firmly grasp the present moment. When pursuing long-term goals, we must never lose sight of realistic conditions and, as much as possible, align them with current needs, thereby achieving an organic integration of the long-term and the immediate. In focusing on current development, we must avoid being solely fixated on the present while neglecting—or even ignoring—long-term considerations. We must especially steer clear of living beyond our means or depleting resources to the point of exhaustion. Instead, we should prioritize actions that lay solid foundations and benefit the long term. We must adhere to the principle of proceeding from actual conditions in all matters.
