The power of personality represents the spiritual appeal and exemplary role that individuals display in their ideological qualities, moral integrity, and behavioral conduct. For the building and development of the Communist Party of China, it is crucial to achieve an organic unity between the power of truth and the power of personality. The power of truth serves as the foundation of the power of personality, endowing communists with firm faith and a correct guide for action. Meanwhile, the power of personality is the external manifestation of the power of truth; through their concrete actions, communists put the Party’s theories into practice, thereby enhancing the persuasiveness and appeal of the power of truth. As Engels remarked when evaluating Marx: “He may have had many enemies, but he probably never had a personal enemy.” Throughout his life, Marx devoted himself wholeheartedly to the liberation of all humanity. His noble character ensured that Marxism has always shone with the brilliance of truth, earning the support and endorsement of the broad working class and laboring masses. The power of truth and the power of personality are dialectically unified and mutually reinforcing. Xia Minghan, driven by his commitment to truth, heroically gave his life with the steadfast spirit of a communist, composing the stirring poem: “It matters not if my head is chopped off—as long as the cause I uphold is true.” Chen Wangdao courageously became a “sower” of the seeds of truth; while translating the “Communist Manifesto,” he mistakenly took ink for brown sugar and ate it, leaving behind the beautiful anecdote that “the taste of truth is incredibly sweet.” Qian Xuesen, with his sincere devotion—“My career is in China, my achievements are in China, and my final resting place will be in China”—wrote a glorious chapter in the history of the “Two Bombs and One Satellite” program. Throughout its journey, our Party has faced countless hardships and obstacles, yet it has remained unbreakable and invincible, always forging ahead bravely. This resilience stems from the guiding light of scientific truth and from the unwavering faith and solid, pragmatic style of tens of millions of Party members.

Emphasizing Party building through ideological strengthening and theoretical robustness is a distinctive feature and glorious tradition of our Party. Since the advent of the new era, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has adhered to the Marxist stance, viewpoint, and methodology, closely integrating them with the conditions of the times and practical requirements to advance theoretical innovation and creation. It has profoundly answered questions posed by China, the world, the people, and the times, thereby establishing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era—a new leap in the sinicization and modernization of Marxism that showcases the powerful force of truth. Starting with the improvement of work styles, the Party has advanced comprehensive and strict governance over itself, representing an important lesson learned from the Party’s self-revolution in the new era. The Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core took the lead by formulating and enforcing the Central Committee’s Eight-Point Regulation, using the practice of setting an example through concrete actions to bring about a dramatic transformation in Party and government conduct, and fostering continuous positive trends in social and public life. To win the battle against poverty, General Secretary Xi Jinping conducted more than 50 field investigations into poverty alleviation efforts, traveling across all 14 contiguous areas of extreme poverty nationwide. On the basis of thorough investigation and research, he proposed the concept of targeted poverty alleviation and used it to guide practical implementation, personally setting an exemplary standard of the organic unity of the power of truth and personal integrity for the entire Party. In the fight against poverty, we have upheld the development philosophy centered on the people and pursued targeted poverty alleviation. Millions of poverty alleviation officials have devoted themselves wholeheartedly, working diligently and pragmatically, thus accomplishing the arduous task of eradicating absolute poverty and creating a miracle in human history that will be recorded forever. Guided by the new development philosophy, from industrial development and technological innovation to improving people’s livelihoods and revitalizing rural areas, the vast ranks of Party members and cadres have shown great initiative and taken on responsibilities in solving difficult problems and promoting development, continually achieving new successes in high-quality development. Practice has taught us that only by rooting truth in personal integrity and elevating personal integrity through truth can we forge a powerful synergy between the two, ensuring steady and sustained progress in the cause of the Party and the country.

At present, our country is at a critical juncture in comprehensively advancing the cause of building a strong nation and achieving national rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization. We must remain steadfastly committed to upholding and putting into practice truth, while also emphasizing the promotion of fine working styles and showcasing personal integrity and moral strength. Starting from the tasks we are currently undertaking, we must join forces wholeheartedly while staying true to our original character; we must pool our wisdom and energy to tackle tough challenges; and through the organic integration of the power of truth and the power of personality, we must continuously make new strides and achieve new breakthroughs in advancing Chinese-style modernization, thus adding luster and glory to the cause of building a strong nation and realizing national rejuvenation.
