Attorney Zhang Hongchao holds a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in economic law. He has previously worked in corporate management and related fields. He began practicing law full-time in 1994 and has been practicing law for 20 years. In 2003, he was recognized by the Shenyang Municipal Justice Bureau as one of the first Model Honest Lawyers; in 2014, he was honored by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Justice as an Outstanding Lawyer of Liaoning Province. Currently, he serves as a Senior Partner and a Second-Level Attorney at Liaoning Tongfang Law Firm.

For example, in the case involving Wang, who was accused of theft and had stolen electricity worth 380,000 yuan—a sum that met the threshold for “huge amount”—the case attracted legislative attention from the National People’s Congress during its trial. Ultimately, Attorney Zhang successfully secured an acquittal for his client.
